Fed: Employment Advocate objects to union leave bank

CANBERRA, Feb 25 AAP - The federal government's Employment Advocate is today seeking
to remove a work provision that allows one day of Qantas flight attendants' annual leave
to be set aside for union activities.

Jonathan Hamberger said his office had received complaints about the union leave bank
clauses in two certified agreements between Qantas and the Flight Attendants' Association
of Australia (FAAA).

Mr Hamberger has applied for their removal under a section of the Workplace Relations
Act which allows for removal if certified agreement …
